Now for this week’s story:
I have been told since I was young, along with watching documentaries where the people are also being told that we are here to suffer. I’m here to tell you that You Are Good. That God wants you to enjoy this life. Yes, you will have challenges. That is just part of the game, but you were put here to enjoy, to learn, and to grow. This is simply the Science of God.
I have told you in the past that I am old. Due to this I have had many experiences. These experiences have given me reference points to use when making decisions. With those experiences, I have had a lot of failures.
Failure is just a learning adventure that more often than not sucks. However, once you fight your way through the failures, success is on the way.
With that said, let’s face it, you really get no information out of the above statement. So, let’s see if I can show you?
Lady Linda and I have never been ones to spend money frivolously. However, we forgot about the basics of money. Actually, that is an understatement to the max degree. We forgot about the first rule of money and without it there is no Money! The first rule is Cash Flow Is Everything!
We had set our lives up, so we had as few bills as possible. House paid off, land paid off etc. but we neglected our cash flow and took on a few small monthly bills. I mean how much could a few small monthly bills hurt? A LOT WITH NO CASH FLOW!
At this point we were not in good shape. Yes, we owned everything, but with just a few missteps this could be a disaster.
Now that we have failed what do we do about it? There is only one thing to do. Pick ourselves up, brush off, and make some decisions. The decisions we made in no particular order. We had a lot of small home projects going with supplies here on our property. Again, Yes, the supplies are paid off, BUT WE HAVE NO CASH FLOW! Under most circumstances I would not condone this, but Home Depot & Lowe’s let you return things within a specified time period. We rounded everything up and returned it.
We cancelled our TV provider. That saved $100 bucks a month.
When Linda and I got together, she had some antique furniture which we as a couple now had to store. Every marriage is a business partnership. So, anything that was a bill for her is now a bill for the couple. Because of this our first decision was to rent a storage unit. Making monthly payments of $150.
I don’t know if I have said this before in this blog, but WE HAVE NO CASH FLOW! We have to stop as much of the out-flowing money as possible. As usual, God helped us with this one. Making a long story short, a friend had been storing wood for a long time. He told us we could have it. Thanks to God and to Sal!
Because of this I was able to build a small barn next to the house. We then got rid of the storage unit.
The point is we got rid of anything we could live without. If it was a convenience or unnecessary, we got rid of it. Linda and I work and live together, so we didn’t need a second vehicle. We sold the car.
This was not convenient. Not even a little. None of the cuts we made were convenient. But we had a money problem, and we were going to fix it as fast as possible. If this means we are inconvenienced, so be it.
At the same time, God being good, because of our housecleaning business we could increase the number of houses we cleaned. Trust me, we did not want to do this. Housecleaning is exhausting. From the moment you walk in the door you don’t stop moving. Getting down on the floor to get under beds, couches, cabinets. Reaching over your head to clean tops of shelves and cabinets. Then there are the kitchens and bathrooms, scrubbing glass shower doors and the shower walls etc. To add on to all of this, the constant moving is in every house regardless of whether it takes one hour to clean or six hours.
Linda and I were cleaning all the houses we could do comfortably. But there was no choice here. We added a bunch of houses. Although we were not happy with the things we had to do, our finances started getting better almost immediately.
We kept this pace up for two years. Building up a nest egg and preparing for the next rainy day and we are now in great shape.
So here you can see our failure led to us being in better financial shape than ever.
Remember – Failure is just a learning adventure that more often than not sucks. However, once you fight your way through the failures, success is on the way.
This blog started because I was watching people on YouTube complaining that we are going through some hard times. The U.S. administration here in 2025 is dealing with the largest deficit in the history of mankind. If left unchecked, it will bankrupt the U.S.
So, what is the strategy? Cut all non-essential expenditures even though it is not convenient and may hurt for a little while. At the same time, increase the cash flow as much as possible.
They are looking at everything. Asking where can we save? Unfortunately, at least for now, the one thing that would have shaved trillions is not on the table. During Trump 45 he floated the idea of refinancing the debt when the interest rates were at “0” or damn close to it. He couldn’t get the Democratic Congress to refinance. Anyone who stood against refinancing the national debt at 0 interest, are either total idiots or they want the U.S. to fall. It makes no difference which one they are, I don’t want them representing me. I bet you don’t either. Vote them out!
There will be rough road ahead, but trust that the strategy is sound and soon the sun will shine brighter than ever.
Remember, the Science of God wants you to enjoy yourself and to grow. There will be hard times. However, God gave you free will. Depending on the effort you want to put into your life, you can make your life extraordinary. Educate yourself and put the effort into your life. You are worth it!
