Welcome. Lady Linda and I are on our way to vacation. Our friend Joey is taking care of our dog Chocolate and the house for the week. I wanted to get this message off to you before we left. The photo is a photo of me at Magic Wings with a butterfly on my nose. It was so much fun.
Our tech guru Shane, sent out an ad on Facebook so all our friends and followers could see the video where I, The Crazy Inventor and proud father and grandfather went in front of the school board. You can see how passionate I am about our children and their education. However, Facebook restricted our advertising and banned the video and threatened to throw us off completely. Unfortunately they banned it before I could read my hate mail. Shane thought he had made a big mistake, but I was thrilled to hear about the banning. It shows that even as small as we are at present, we can be effective and make a difference. When we return from vacation Lady Linda and I are going to contact organizations and groups, small and large so that I can teach about the greatest invention of all time. You don’t know what that is? Now for this week’s story:
I have been blessed to be asked to teach The Doorway – To Finding Your Purpose In Life to different classes. The first time Lady Linda and I were asked to teach the book we literally had nothing other than the book. We had no idea how we were going to go about teaching The Doorway and only three weeks to come up with a two hour class.
We finally decided on using a time line and highlighting three questions which were asked during my life. All three of these questions are inside The Doorway. One of them was asked by a teacher when I was eleven years old in 1969. The other two were asked in 1978 when I was a senior in high school. THE DOORWAY – TO FINDING YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE has many examples showing the reader how each and every one of us has value and has a unique gift to bring to the world. So Linda and I had to choose which examples to use for the class. We chose these three because they are stories that in one way or another I have direct knowledge of.
Early in the class I ask the three questions. I ask the students not to call out any answers. For now I just want them to think about what they think the answers may be. I tell them we will revisit the questions later in the class. In my blog on 06-23-21 I told you about one of the questions I ask in the class which happened in 1978 and it goes like this.
How do you feel about a boy who shows up to the basketball courts, gets on a team, then put his hands in his pockets and walks up and down the court while eveyone else plays?
When I ask the question, you can see the look of confusion on the students’ faces. Why would someone get on a team, then put their hands in their pockets and not play?

Today I want to explore another one of the questions I ask in our class. This one goes like this —
How do you feel about a student that is supposed to be in 7th grade, is only in 5th grade, and is doing work like this? I then show them blow-ups of this student’s workbook, which shows they are doing 1st grade work. I then ask them again how do you feel about this student? They are supposed to be in 7th grade, they are only in 5th grade and they are doing 1st grade work. How do you feel about this student?
When I ask the students this question you can see they don’t have a clue how they feel about this student.
That is all of the class that I am going to reveal at this time. The opportunity to show you that each and every one of us has value and has an amazing gift by teaching my classes is possible again. Once the class and I have explored all three of the main questions the class is built on, they realize for themselves that they too have value along with everyone else. They also realize for themselves that it is to their advantage to look for the things a person can do rather than what they can’t do.
