I look forward to discussing my unique way of teaching positive self-esteem, through the eyes of an inventor, with Dawn.

The following is an excerpt from You’re Amazing And I’ll Prove It!

What does a tall, full, green leafy tree and a short, scrawny, scraggly tree have to do with you being Amazing? And, how would I use these two trees to prove You’re Amazing?

Well the first thing I have to ask you is, which of the above two trees are better? Do you think the tall, full, green leafy tree is better than the short, scrawny, scraggly tree?

On the other hand, do you think the short, scrawny, scraggly tree is better than the tall, full, green leafy tree?

Well which tree did you pick as the better tree?

Now that you made your decision, take another look. If the trees are located at the bottom of a mountain, with lots of tall trees around them do you want to change your original answer?

Now look at the exact same two trees. If the trees are located on top of a mountain, with few or no other trees around them, which tree do you think is better? Do these conditions change your original answer?

The answer to these questions came to me one day when some friends and I hiked to the top of a mountain, at the bottom of the mountain, the trees were tall and robust. However, as we climbed the trees got shorter and stouter. After reaching the peak of the mountain, all the trees were very short and haggard, but very stout. That’s when I asked myself which tree was better, the tall, full, green leafy tree or the short, scrawny, scraggly tree?

After thinking about it, I realized that if you put the two trees at the bottom of the mountain, then the tall tree is better than the short tree. This is because the tall tree will get all the sunlight, however the short tree will get no sunlight and die.

However, if you take the same two trees and put them at the top of the mountain, the short tree is better than the tall one. Why, you may ask? The answer is that at the top of the mountain, there is lots and lots of wind and the weather is much harsher than at the bottom. At the top of the mountain, the wind is too strong and ferocious for the tall tree. The tall tree would be blown down and die. However, the short tree has much less surface area for the wind to blow against. So, under these circumstances, not only can the short tree survive, it can thrive. With these advantages over the tall tree, the short tree is the better tree at the top of a mountain.

Now what does this have to do with you being Amazing? Well, if a tall tree and a short tree has a specific place on this planet, you know you do and this is a place only you can fill. You also know if a tall and short tree bring something to this world that only they can, then you know you bring something Amazing and unique to this world that only you can. So, when times get rough, always remember You’re Amazing And I Just Proved It!
